After months of rethinking and reenergizing, we are thrilled to present you with the first issue of our new publishing cycle. Co-editor Lena Moses Schmitt built and designed this new website from scratch, aiming for an aesthetic as striking as the writing we have chosen to fill its pages. The Collapsar is above all a community of readers and writers. We invite you to join us.
Though we have new editors and a new website, The Collapsar will uphold the spirit and standards of its origins. We owe much to Nathan Knapp and James Brubaker, who founded The Collapsar from a small college town in Oklahoma and fostered a loyal and international readership in just a few years. Our new website includes all of the pieces published by The Collapsar in the past: Publications from December 2015 to March 2017 can be found here, and late 2013 to early 2015 can be found here. Links to individual pieces on the old website will be available for another month or so.
We are as eager as ever for submissions in all genres for our issues published once every two months, and will soon resume publishing culture writing on a weekly basis. Send us your best!
Onward,
The Editors
