The Collapsar publishes new poetry, fiction, and nonfiction every other month, and new culture writing weekly.
The Collapsar is an online literary magazine. We publish new issues of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry every other month, and new culture writing weekly. We hope to bring forward an array of all styles of writing from voices new and established. Our name refers to an old star that has collapsed by the weight of its own gravity. Collapsars often transform into white dwarfs or black holes, and we aim publish to publish writing that is equally transformative, writing that has carved out its own place in the universe.
Founded in 2013 by Nathan Knapp and James Brubaker in Stillwater, Oklahoma, The Collapsar has gone through several iterations, and now has editors living on both coasts. Before our current format, we published daily content from December 2015 to March 2017, which you can read in our archive, here. From late 2013 to early 2015, we published issues every few months or so, which you can browse here.
